Job Description HACO Industries was established in the early ’s as single-product manufacturer. From those modest beginnings, HACO is now one of the region’s leading FMCG manufacturers, supplying a wide range of products to the entire East African and COMESA Markets. Scope and Primary purpose of the role.The overall responsibility of the job holder is mitigating the risk of bad debts debtors by following up on the collection of outstanding balances and the resolution of account queries, raising sales invoices and issuing credit notes. He/she is also responsible for building and maintaining close links with all customers, ensuring smooth running of accounts and ensuring timely recovery of debts.Responsibilities. Ensure that customer accounts are set up in a timely manner and in accordance with the laid down procedures.Regularly monitor customer accounts and ensure that credit limits are adhered to.Provide timely responses to the invoicing team to enable release of orders for invoicing.Prepare and submit weekly and monthly collection reports to the Financial Controller.Ensure that customer balances due are collected in a timely manner.Ensure that credit notes that need to be issued to customers are issued in a prompt manner.Ensure daily posting of transactions in customer accounts.Ensure that customer statements are sent out to customers every week.Perform quarterly review of credit limits and submit proposals to Financial Controller for review.Provide monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts delegated by the Financial Controller.Provide support to contracted debt collectors in pursuing old debts.Ensure customer disputes are resolved in a timely manner and in a way that builds strong customer relationships.Ensure that staff floats and advances are reconciled every month and amounts not accounted for within the laid down procedures are submitted to HR department for payroll deduction. Ensure petty cash disbursements are done in a timely manner. RequirementsQualifications. A first degree in Finance/Accounting and a registered professional accountant (CPA-K) or ACCAMinimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably in an FMCG organization.Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel, word, power pointMust be proficient in accounting packages.Must have knowledge of IFRS and IAS. Technical/ Operational Competencies. Excellent communication and demonstrated decision making skills including being proactive.High personal ethics and integritySelf-motivated individual with effective organizational skillsPossess exceptional analytical and reasoning skills to think problems through and generate solutions.
