- Responsible to the Board of Trustees for the implementation of the Board’s policies.
- Coordination of the Board and Management for development of policies and long-term strategies and their implementation.
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of the Fund.
- Secretary of the Board of Trustees.
- Chairman of the management team.
- Ensuring that the Heads of Sections perform as expected
- Ensuring sound financial, staff and assets management.
- Recruitment, development and discipline of all staff of the Fund
- Accountable to the Board of Trustees.
- Any other duties assigned by the Board of Trustees.
- Ensuring that the Board of Trustees’ functions are run smoothly and harmoniously.
- Expected to instill teamwork in the organization with the goal of achieving set targets.
- Key motivator to the staff of the Fund.
- Contribute towards enhancing the public image of the Fund by articulating the policies and philosophy set out in the Trust deed.
- May sometimes have to take stringent actions, which may bring him/her into direct disfavor with various affected parties, including staff.
- Takes responsibility for the omissions/commissions and poor performance of staff where it is deemed to have been committed within the normal cause of duty and with good intentions.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent.
- CPA/CPS III or its equivalent.
- A Master’s degree in Management or a related area will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience at senior Management level.
- Experience working with social organizations serving the vulnerable is desired.
- Must have experience in fundraising and Advocacy.
- Strong administrative skills with a strong financial background.
- Good working knowledge of organizational development and management.
- Age 35 – 45 years.
- Competence in ICT and related applications.
- Must be self-motivated, a creative forward thinker and result oriented leader.
- Must be tolerant and mature, with good inter-personal relationship skills.
- Must be an honest person of impeccable integrity.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Amiable personality.
- Fluent in English and Swahili.
- Position is for a contract of three (3) years renewable.
- Other benefits include medical cover, Gratuity of 25% of basic salary payable after successful completion of the 3-year contract.
