JOB TITLE: COMMIS CHEF(10 POSITIONS)

JOB LOCATION: WESTLANDS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s recipes and standards.
- Work closely with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Handle mise en place duties (preparing ingredients before service).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and storage areas in
- compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Follow kitchen procedures and maintain consistency in food preparation and taste.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of all food items to minimize waste.
- Adhere to portion control standards and minimize food wastage.
- Assist with inventory checks and receive deliveries while ensuring quality and quantity.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and tools, reporting any maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
- Be proactive in learning new cooking techniques and improving culinary skills.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the kitchen management.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts or relevant hospitality training
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a high-end or fine dining restaurant
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience in continental cuisine
- Excellent knife skills and basic kitchen techniques
- Ability to follow recipes and presentation standards accurately
- Good knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP or equivalent)
- A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Flexible and willing to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
