Experience in a similar institution offering logbook, checkoff, and title deed loans, like Mwananchi Credit, is essential.

Education & Certification
- Mandatory: Diploma or Degree in a business-related course (e.g., Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration).
- Preferred: Master’s degree such as an MBA, or MSc in Finance/Risk Management.
Professional Certifications:
- Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent qualifications.
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- In-depth understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies, scoring models, and portfolio management.
- Strong knowledge of logbook loans, checkoff loans, and title deed-based lending.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and enforce credit risk policies, manage delinquent accounts, and minimize NPLs.
- Excellent computer literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other risk management tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, audit processes, and risk governance structures.
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Proven team leadership—must have led at least 3 staff in credit or risk-related roles.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Smart, presentable, and excellent in verbal and written communication.
- Able to engage stakeholders, regulators, and auditors confidently.
- Passionate about proactive risk management and upholding organizational risk appetite.
Experience Requirements
- 5–7 years total experience, with at least 3 years in banking or microfinance.
- Minimum 3 years in a credit leadership role, managing team performance and risk exposure.
- Hands-on experience with collateral-based lending, portfolio performance monitoring, and credit risk reporting.
- Must have worked in a similar financial institution offering comparable loan products as Mwananchi Credit.
