We are venture builders dedicated to solving some of Africa’s biggest challenges and capitalizing on it’s incredible potential by leveraging market and tech opportunities. Over the next five years, we’ll build 24 businesses from scratch and scale 64 existing growth-stage ventures through our venture development programs. Backed by leading corporates, such as Standard Bank – the continent’s largest bank – we have access to their vast resources, infrastructure, and expertise and will bring those to bear for all our ventures and entrepreneurs. Starting with FinTech, HealthTech, and AgriTech FFA will expand our focus as we grow, adding other sectors.ResponsibilitiesData analysis & reporting Aggregating, cleaning, analysing, interpreting, and displaying portfolio data using different approaches and portfolio management toolUncovering key insights that lead to better informed and successful decision-makingMaintaining and updating templates of reporting processes and systems, and the central data repositoryImprove and maintain data architecture of data collection, analysis, and reporting into FFA’s portfolio management tool and shareholder reportsSupport FFA portfolio companies data analytics to make smarter business choices to attain improved products and servicesProvide lead support to the Head of Portfolio in driving timely completion of quarterly and annual reports; and quarterly & monthly portfolio reviews Research Conducting targeted market research to inform the Network’s strategic objectivesYou will investigate market circumstances and competitors’ landscape in order to assess our portfolio companies’ products and services positioning and improve pricing models Portfolio function support As a core part of the FFA portfolio function, you’ll work closely with the Chief Portfolio Officer and Head of Portfolio to provide support in the execution of the function’s strategic objectives, such as founder circles, webinars, playbooks, and newsletters Success in this role will be determined by: Ability to inform data-driven strategic decisions Required Experience And Skills Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Data Science / Analytics or related fieldsProfessional training in data analytics is a huge plus.2 years of proven experience working in a data-oriented environment with an inclination to a start up or scale up environment, with a high proficiency in spreadsheetsExcellent analytical, research, presentation and communication capabilitiesA self-starter who thrives in an autonomous role, with excellent prioritisation, self-organisation, and execution skills Benefits The role is in a fast-moving company, with a startup culture – this offers lots of opportunities to learn, be hands-on, agile and have the freedom to develop strategy and execute on it without bureaucratic constraintsThis is an exciting opportunity to join one of Africa’s largest venture development and investment companies to help shape the future of Africa’s startup ecosystemGrowth and Learning: work with and meet exceptional talent and learn faster than you ever have before.
