Fleet Operations Manager

• Oversee daily operations of company vehicle fleet including maintenance scheduling, inspections, and ensuring roadworthiness
• Recruit, screen, and onboard qualified drivers; conduct background checks and verify all necessary documentation (licenses, certifications, etc.)
• Manage driver performance and maintain positive working relationships with all drivers
• Monitor and enforce payment schedules; follow up promptly on late payments and overdue accounts
• Maintain accurate records of payments, vehicle usage, maintenance history, and driver performance
• Coordinate with legal support on contracts, insurance claims, traffic violations, accidents, and compliance matters
• Ensure all vehicles maintain proper licensing, insurance, and regulatory compliance
• Handle escalations including driver disputes, vehicle incidents, and payment issues
• Report regularly on fleet performance, revenue per vehicle, and operational challenges
• Implement systems to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs

Requirements:

• Minimum 2-3 years experience in fleet management, transport operations, or related field
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to manage difficult conversations
• Experience with payment collection and account follow-ups
• Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and transport regulations in Kenya
• Proficient in record-keeping and comfortable with basic computer applications
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work flexible hours when operational needs arise
