Responsibilities:
- Ensure the highest possible standards of education
through promotion and effective teaching and learning.
- Lead in pedagogical content knowledge and
understanding of competency-based curriculum and how to implement it.
- Create an environment that promotes assessment and
reporting.
- Develop a collaborative professional learning
culture.
- Play a key role in supervising and ensuring quality
implementation of the curriculum.
- Supervise the actual coverage of syllabus.
- Ensure a conducive teaching and learning environment
in the institution.
- Monitor and report on teacher performance.
- Supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers.
Requirements:
- Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.) is now the standard. A Master's in Education (M.Ed.) is an added advantage.
- TSC Registration: Must be a registered and validly certified teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years in a leadership role (like Deputy Headteacher) and substantial teaching experience.
- Performance: Satisfactory performance appraisal/contracting and a proven track record.
- CBC Competence: Must be competent in the Competency-Based Curriculum.
