The Procurement Specialist – Local Procurement will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and timely procurement of Raw materials, Packaging materials, Marketing Materials, Engineering Spares, Services and operational supplies to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Job Title: Procurement Specialist
Job Summary
The role will oversee supplier sourcing, quotation analysis, purchase order management, supplier performance monitoring, and coordination with logistics and finance teams to ensure materials are delivered on time, at competitive cost, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key
Responsibilities
- Source
and obtain competitive quotations from approved suppliers for raw
materials, packaging materials, and operational supplies.
- Evaluate
supplier quotations and negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and
commercial terms to achieve cost efficiency.
- Process
purchase orders and raise Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) upon approval
of quotations or proforma invoices.
- Manage
and maintain an accurate supplier database and vendor master data.
- Develop
and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and
contractors to ensure reliability and performance.
- Ensure
procurement activities comply with internal policies, quality
standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate
with third-party logistics providers and clearing agents to ensure
efficient cargo clearance and material delivery where required.
- Maintain
accurate records and documentation of procurement and import
transactions in line with compliance requirements.
- Liaise
with the finance department to ensure timely processing of supplier
payments.
- Analyze
procurement data and prepare procurement performance reports to
support operational planning and decision-making.
- Identify
opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement within
procurement operations.
- Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
& Experience
- Bachelor’s
degree in Procurement
and Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business
Administration, or a related field.
- CIPS/KISM
qualification
will be an added advantage.
- Minimum
of 5
years’ relevant experience in procurement within a manufacturing
environment
- Experience
in use of ERP (Sage, SAP)
- Experience
in supplier
sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Knowledge of local procurement processes, contract management, and inventory coordination.
