Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic Sales & Marketing Officer. The primary responsibility of this position is to drive company’s sales by identifying and securing new clients while maintaining strong relationships with existing ones. The incumbent should have a deep understanding of the company’s services and products to effectively convey their benefits during sales presentations and negotiations. S/he will play a crucial role in gathering customer feedback for service improvement and reporting sales activities and outcomes to management, linking the market’s needs and the company’s offerings.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements
- Conduct market research to determine market needs for existing and future products including carrying out regular customer satisfaction surveys
- Develop and execute sales strategies, including identifying target markets, customer segments, and competitive positioning
- Develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy and annual plans in conjunction with the management
- Establish contact and develop relationships with prospective clients to boost sales Follow up on all requests/quotes issued by clients to ensure they are acted upon with the goals of securing business
- Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors
- Identify prospective business opportunities and evaluate their position in the industry, researching and analyzing sales options
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, including customer interactions, sales calls, and progress updates in the Jawaka system
- Negotiate tender and contract terms and conditions to meet client and company needs
- Provide valuable feedback from customer interactions to inform product development and marketing efforts
- Visit clients and follow up with them to ensure their satisfaction is maintained
Key Qualifications
- Diploma in sales & marketing, communications, business administration, or relevant field (a bachelor’s degree in relevant field will have added advantage)
- Over 5 years’ experience in hospitality industry (experience as an insurance sales agent is an added advantage)
- Proven track record in sales and marketing
- Demonstrable ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team, with high level of creativity and integrity
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent negotiation, organizational, prioritization and business closing skills
- Experience in market research methods, data analysis, and report writing
- Problem solving, strategic thinking, self-driven, and service-oriented
- Self-motivated with a results-driven attitude to meet monthly targets
- Those with knowledge and skills in e-marketing, including social media, will have an added advantage
