Your Role
As our SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for boosting our visibility, driving traffic, and ensuring that our WordPress websites rank at the top in search engines. You will collaborate with our European marketing team and contribute to WEMALO’s growth in Africa and beyond.
Your Key Responsibilities
● Conduct full SEO audits (On-page & Off-page) using Semrush
● Analyze and optimize Core Web Vitals, site speed, and indexing
● Implement technical SEO (Sitemaps, Robots.txt, Schema.org, Canonicals, internal linking)
● Perform keyword research (English basis → handed over to our German content team for localization)
● Competitor analysis & identification of new ranking opportunities
● Build and execute a high-quality backlink strategy
● Deliver regular reports (rankings, visibility, traffic, backlinks) with actionable insights
What We’re Looking For
● 5+ years proven experience in technical and strategic SEO (Wordpress focus preferred)
● Advanced knowledge of Semrush, Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs, or similar tools
● Deep technical understanding (crawling, indexing, JavaScript SEO, page speed optimization)
● Track record of successful SEO projects with measurable ranking results
● Excellent English communication skills (German not required)
● Highly analytical, structured, and proactive mindset
● Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic WordPress development is an advantage
● Proactive, detail-oriented, self-driven personality
Nice to Have
● Knowledge of structured data, schema markup, or advanced technical SEO
● Previous work in international SEO / multi-language website optimization
● Speaking German
