The only institution of higher learning in Kenya for a long time, the University of Nairobi responded to the national, regional and Africa’s high level manpower training needs by developing and evolving strong, diversified academic programmes and specializations in basic sciences, applied sciences, technology, humanities, social sciences and the arts. Through module II (continuing education) programmes, invaluable opportunity has been opened to hundreds of Kenyans and non-Kenyans, on a paying basis, who meet university admission requirements, but who have not been able to access university education due to restricted intake into the regular programmes that is determined by limited resource allocation by Government. AC/6/86/23 – 1 POSTAbout Job An applicant must be a holder of an earned PhD equivalent in degree in any of the following areas of specialization Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Insurance, Marketing or International Studies or equivalent qualifications from a University recognized by the University of Nairobi Senate.He/she must have a minimum of eight years teaching experience; three of which are at a Senior Lecturer or Senior Research Fellow at the University; have Supervised to completion: a minimum of five post graduate students at least; two ( 2) at doctoral level and three masters level; have attained a minimum of 32 publication points from peer reviewed journals with: a minimum of five publications in refereed scholarly journals since last promotion OR A minimum of three publications in refereed scholarly journals and two scholarly book chapters or two peer reviewed working, occasional or discussion papers or two published scholarly teaching modules since last promotion; have attracted of Research funds ordevelopment funds or educational resources as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow since last promotion; have evidence of community service; have registered with relevant professional bodyThe successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership, teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate students, initiate and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and organize and guide research programmes.They will also be expected to participate in Departmental, Faculty and University activities.
