Position Overview
Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a key role in sourcing, recruiting, and converting trucking companies into factoring clients. This individual will manage inbound inquiries, proactively reach out to leads provided by the company, and independently research and develop new leads within the trucking and dispatching market.
Core Responsibilities
1. Manage Company Main Phone Line
• Answer and manage the company’s primary phone number professionally
• Respond to inbound inquiries from trucking companies
• Educate potential clients on Pillbury’s factoring services
• Explain pricing, non-recourse structure, and onboarding process
• Route calls appropriately when necessary
2. Convert Company-Provided Leads into Clients
• Contact daily and weekly leads provided by the company
• Introduce the company and explain what differentiates us
• Qualify prospects and identify funding needs
• Follow up consistently and professionally
• Guide prospects through the onboarding process
• Maintain accurate CRM notes and pipeline tracking
3. Source and Develop Independent Leads
• Conduct online research to identify trucking companies and dispatching companies
• Build relationships with dispatchers and industry partners
• Generate and nurture self-sourced leads
• Turn self-generated leads into active factoring clients
• Stay informed on trucking market trends and industry changes
Qualifications
• Fluent in American English (Required)
• Somali language fluency (Strongly Preferred)
• Experience in sales, recruiting, customer service, or financial services preferred
• Strong phone presence and communication skills
• Comfortable explaining financial products clearly and confidently
• Self-motivated and target-driven
• Strong follow-up discipline and organizational skills
• Basic understanding of trucking or freight industry (preferred but not required)
• Proficient in CRM systems, email communication, and online research
