Job summary

<p>Our client is seeking a reliable, experienced, and child-friendly Househelp/House Manager for a private residence in Nairobi. This is a live-in position ideal for a mature individual who is passionate about childcare and maintaining a well-organized home.</p>

Job descriptions & requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Childcare (Primary Role)

  • Provide attentive, safe, and nurturing care to young children
  • Feeding, bathing, dressing, and maintaining children’s hygiene
  • Engaging children in age-appropriate play and learning activities
  • Assisting with school routines and homework
  • Ensuring children’s safety at all times

2. Housekeeping

  • Daily cleaning of all living areas (sweeping, mopping, dusting)
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the home
  • Changing bed linens and ensuring high hygiene standards

3. Laundry & Clothing Care

  • Washing, ironing, folding, and proper storage of clothes
  • Handling delicate garments with care

4. Kitchen & Meal Preparation

  • Preparing meals as instructed
  • Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene

5. Household Management & Errands

  • Monitoring household supplies and reporting needs
  • Running errands and supporting smooth household operations

Minimum Requirements

  • KCSE certificate (mandatory)
  • Any additional training (e.g., housekeeping, childcare, hospitality) is an added advantage
  • Previous experience as a househelp, nanny, or house manager
  • Proven experience caring for infants or young children
  • Ability to cook basic meals and follow instructions
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
