Job Purpose
The Motorbike Sales Team Member is responsible for driving product sales and distribution within an assigned territory by directly visiting retail outlets using a company motorbike. The role focuses on building strong retailer relationships,
ensuring product availability, executing merchandising standards, collecting orders, and achieving daily sales targets while expanding market coverage.

This position plays a critical role in last-mile distribution and market penetration for FMCG products.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Generation
● Conduct daily field visits to assigned retail outlets within designated routes.
● Sell and deliver FMCG products directly to retailers (“sell-as-you-go” model).
● Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
● Identify new retail outlets and onboard them into the distribution network.
● Promote product visibility and recommend appropriate product assortments to retailers.
Route & Territory Management
● Follow assigned sales routes while optimizing coverage and efficiency.
● Maintain an updated customer list and visit schedule.
● Monitor competitor activity and provide market intelligence feedback.
● Ensure consistent product availability across assigned territory.
Order Management & Stock Handling
● Receive and process retailer orders accurately.
● Manage stock carried on the motorbike responsibly.
● Ensure accurate product counts during loading and offloading.
● Report stock variances or damages promptly.
Merchandising & Brand Visibility
● Ensure proper product display and merchandising at retail outlets.
● Implement promotional activities and product launches as guided by the company.
● Maintain brand standards across all customer touchpoints.
Customer Relationship Management
● Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers.
● Address retailer inquiries, complaints, or feedback professionally.
● Provide product information and recommend suitable stock levels.
Reporting & Administration
● Submit daily sales reports and route activity updates.
● Record sales transactions accurately using company systems or manual tools.
● Support collection tracking where applicable.
● Maintain required documentation and compliance records.
Compliance & Safety
● Operate company motorbike safely and in accordance with traffic regulations.
● Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned motorbike.
● Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.

● Sales target achievement
● Outlet coverage and route adherence
● New retailer acquisition
● Product availability and visibility
● Order accuracy and reporting compliance
● Customer satisfaction levels

Qualifications & Experience
● Minimum KCSE or equivalent qualification.
● Certificate or Diploma in Sales, Marketing, or Business-related field is an added advantage.
● At least 1 year experience in FMCG sales, field sales, or retail distribution preferred.
● Experience in route sales or direct-to-retail selling is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies
● Strong sales and negotiation skills.
● Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
● Good communication and persuasion ability.
● Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills.
● Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
● High levels of integrity and accountability.
● Strong time management and route planning skills.

Requirements
● Valid motorcycle riding license.
● Proven riding experience.
● Ability to work outdoors and travel extensively within assigned territory.
● Familiarity with local retail market networks is an advantage.
