Role Summary

The Project Management Associate will offer technical support and coordinate project implementation while providing a key interface between implementing partners, BrighterMonday Kenya, and our funding partners. S/he oversees and leads the projects teams in day-to-day project implementation, supports stakeholder engagement, and contributes to partnership management. The Associate is responsible for managing and supervising the delivery of project milestones, in accordance with work plans, managing approved budgets as well as ensuring compliance according to laid down requirements.

What You'll be Doing

• Coordinate with the Partnerships Lead and the implementors in the delivery of the project’s activities and regularly review progress against key performance indicators; facilitate internal and external discussions regarding how best to increase measurable project outcomes

• Provide leadership and guidance to project staff in the implementation of program activities, ensuring delivery within the acceptable budget and that all relevant policies and procedures are applied

• Collaboratively develop, implement, and monitor project work plans in conjunction with implementors and other project teams as well as identify and make recommendations to improve project work processes as applicable

• Coordinating with cross-discipline team members to make sure that all implementation contributors are on track with their roles, project requirements, deadlines, and schedules

• Generate reports and provide project updates in a timely manner to inform the Partnerships Lead, implementors, and other stakeholders about the implementation approach, challenges, adjustments, and progress. This includes weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on all the key performance indicators to support the results of procedures

• Ensure project activities are delivered within acceptable budget thresholds, and in compliance with laid down requirements

• Support development of the Project M& E framework and its implementation

• Support coordination of field visits, and provide feedback as needed to internal and external stakeholders

• Participate in networking events related to the project areas for sensitization, advocacy, and identification of potential partnerships

• Contribute to concept notes and proposal development for submission to prospective partners

• Provide support as required to the administration of all project work and any other duties as might be assigned by the line manager

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in development studies, project management, business administration, strategic management, or any other related field; an MBA or related Master’s degree a plus 

• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, 3 years in the impact/ development space in a management capacity leading a team. Experience managing activities funded by international development agencies such as USAID, UK-AID, and EU, projects highly desired

• Experience seeing projects through their full cycle

• Good time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for impressive presentations and effective report writing.

• Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and to influence people without direct authority 

• PMP or any other project management certification not required but a plus as well as familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.

• Strong interpersonal, leadership, strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills with ability to motivate project teams
