- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly and annual revenue targets
- Identify new market opportunities for solar lights and kits across urban, peri-urban, and rural segments
- Drive product penetration in both retail and institutional markets
- Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies to maximize growth
- Build, expand, and manage a network of distributors, retailers, hardware shops, and institutional buyers across Kenya
- Strengthen relationships with existing partners to ensure consistent product movement
- Identify and onboard new channel partners in underserved regions
- Ensure proper product availability, visibility, and merchandising at retail outlets
- Actively participate in field sales activities including client visits, product demonstrations, and activations
- Travel upcountry regularly to support regional sales growth and partner engagement
- Conduct market intelligence to understand competitor activity, pricing trends, and customer needs
- Represent the company at trade fairs, roadshows, and community outreach programs
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate sales representatives to meet individual and team targets
- Set clear KPIs and track performance against sales goals
- Conduct regular field visits with team members to provide coaching and support
- Lead weekly/monthly sales reviews and reporting sessions
- Support the development and growth of online and digital sales channels
- Coordinate with marketing teams to run digital campaigns that drive product sales
- Monitor performance of e-commerce platforms and recommend improvements
- Leverage social media and online marketplaces to expand reach and generate leads
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and high-value customers
- Handle escalations, resolve customer complaints, and ensure high satisfaction levels
- Provide after-sales support coordination to strengthen customer loyalty
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates
- Track inventory movement and coordinate with supply chain teams to prevent stock-outs
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, orders, and payments
- Provide insights and recommendations to management based on field data
- Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Uphold and promote the company’s brand image in all markets
- Ensure ethical sales practices and transparency in all transactions
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales of solar lights, solar kits, or related solar energy products
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience managing or supervising a sales team
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to build and maintain distribution networks
- Commercial awareness and market insight
