EUC is the successor of the former Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College which started in as an agricultural training school and was later renamed Embu Institute of Agriculture in . In , it was upgraded to be Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College whose mandate was to develop and implement short management and technical courses, and offer research and consultancy services to enhance performance in the agricultural sector.Persons’ specifications Applicants must be holders of an earned PhD degree in the relevant area of specialty. In addition, applicants must:Have at least eight years of university teaching experience, three of which as full time Senior Lecturer;Have at least 48 publication points, 32 of which are from articles in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Senior Lecturer;Have successfully supervised to completion at least five Masters and one PhD student since being appointed Senior Lecturer;Show evidence of successfully securing at least two research grants since being appointed Senior Lecturer;Show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops;Show evidence of active participation/leadership in university activities; andShow evidence of continued research.
