Assisting the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in the development of the menus for his/her section and for special functions, in accordance with food budget.

Job Description/Requirements

Reporting to the Executive sous chef, responsible and essential job functions include the following:


RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assisting the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in the development of the menus for his/her section and for special functions, in accordance with food budget.

    • Focus on reduction of unnecessary waste in the kitchen

    •  Ensure that roistering of team members is optimal to minimize overtime and guarantee highest productivity and efficiency

    • Coordinate and prepare all menu items (in conjunction with the team), in accordance to time schedule and in conjunction with first class kitchen standards and codes of practice, ensuring that clients expectations with regard to quality, variation and presentation are met, if not exceeded. 

    • Take a personal interest in the guest satisfaction 

    • Respond adequately and swiftly to guest request and / or complaints, in accordance with hotel policy, reporting all complaints to superior.

    • Ensure that team members follow Health & Safety regulations at all times and report responsibility to identify problems, report to superior and take actions if required

    • Liaise and organize with Stewarding and Maintenance Department that the established cleaning and maintenance schedules are strictly adhered to. 

    • To be flexible and extend job duties, to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capacity as assigned, including redeployment to alternative department/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

    1. Previous experience in the culinary field required

    2. Diploma Certification in a culinary discipline

    3. Computer literate in Microsoft applications

    4. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

    5. Excellent communicator in English (oral and written)

    6. Ability to multi-function

Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
