DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, cook, and present meals according to the daily menu and established quality standards.
  • Ensure proper portion control and food presentation at all times.
  • Follow standardized recipes to maintain consistency across all dishes.
  • Assist in planning menus, including special dietary needs when required.
  • Ensure all food preparation areas, equipment, and utensils are clean and sanitized.
  • Maintain high levels of kitchen hygiene in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and assist in inventory management.
  • Properly store all food items to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Handle food and equipment safely to prevent accidents and maintain quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with portion controls, waste reduction guidelines, and kitchen SOPs.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Assist in training and guiding junior staff when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure timely meal service.


KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Production, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment
  • Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety rules, and best practices
  • Reliable, disciplined, and committed to quality and professionalism
  • Excellent time-management and multitasking skills
