Job Description/Requirements
1. Tour Guiding:
- Lead safari tours, ensuring an engaging and informative experience for guests.
- Provide detailed information about wildlife, flora, fauna, and ecosystems encountered during the safari.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of tour participants throughout the excursion.
- Adapt tour content to cater to the interests and preferences of diverse groups.
2. Translation Services:
- Translate spoken and written information between English and Mandarin for guests.
- Facilitate effective communication between guests and local staff members.
- Translate safety instructions, guidelines, and relevant information during the safari.
3. Cultural Interpretation:
- Share insights into local cultures, traditions, and history with a focus on engaging Chinese-speaking guests.
- Foster cultural exchange and understanding between guests and local communities.
4. Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing guest inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Anticipate and respond effectively to the needs of Chinese-speaking guests.
5. Logistical Support:
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth logistical operations of safari tours.
- Assist in planning and organizing tour itineraries and activities.
Qualifications:
1. Language Proficiency:
- Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
2. Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as tourism, ecology, or a related discipline. Diploma or certificate in Chinese Language.
3. Experience:
- Proven experience as a tour guide with a focus on wildlife or nature-based tours.
- Previous experience in translation services is highly desirable.
4. Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of local wildlife, ecosystems, and cultures.
- Familiarity with the region's geography and natural history.
5. Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to engage and connect with diverse groups of people.
6. Adaptability:
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and address unexpected challenges during tours.
7. Certifications:
- Any relevant certifications in tour guiding or translation services are a plus.
