Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic manager to lead our team and play a pivotal role in driving our vision forward. The ideal candidate is a passionate leader with a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, exceptional managerial skills, and a commitment to excellence in service, sustainability and community engagement.
Reports to: Board of Directors
Direct reports: All staff
Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the highest standards of service across all facets of the business.
• Lead and mentor a growing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance guest experiences, operational efficiency, and sustainability practices.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with local communities, artisans, and businesses.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Manage budgets, financial reporting, and performance analysis, ensuring financial sustainability and growth.
• Represent Tulivu at industry events, networking gatherings, and in partnerships discussions.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Board of Directors.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in the travel, hospitality, or related industry.
• Resident of Kakamega or willingness to relocate to Kakamega.
• A deep passion for travel, nature, and cultural experiences.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and inspire a team.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• A strong commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism.
• Proficiency in English and Swahili.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Tourism Management, or a related field.
