JOB TITLE: PASTRY CHEF

Description of work

We are looking for a creative pastry chef who will be responsible for crafting desserts, designing seasonal menus, and developing new recipes for the pastry section. 

Should be passionate about baking, well-conversant in the culinary arts, and adhere to strict standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Responsibilities: -

● Operating and managing the pastry section of the kitchen and liaising with the executive chef to ensure a successful working environment.

● Preparing ingredients and handling baking and other kitchen equipment.

● Creating pastries, baked goods, and desserts by following a set recipe.

● Decorating pastries and desserts to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation.

● Ensure that sufficient quantities of prepared items are available to meet projected demands and are stored in a manner. Which prolongs their usefulness, maintain quality and safe food handling practices. 

● Assure that adequate mise en place is prepared on a daily basis based on forecasted covers for all lounges.

● Monitoring the stock of baking ingredients.

● Ensuring the pastry section adheres to safety and health regulations.

Skills and Abilities 

● Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

● Ability to work during weekends and holidays.

● Well-skilled in decorating cakes and desserts.

● Exceptional listening and communication skills.

Qualification and Requirements

● Certificate in Culinary Arts, Pastry, and Baking or a relevant field in a recognized institution.

● 1 or more years experience as a pastry chef, baker, or relevant role.

● Knowledge of baking techniques and pastry-making process

● Knowledge in pizza making will be an added advantage.
