Job Summary
The Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Manager will play a critical leadership role in securing sustainable funding, cultivating strategic partnerships and advancing the mission of the Trust Fund. The role demands a dynamic, results-driven individual with the ability to design and execute resource mobilization strategies, build long-term partner relationships and balance partner expectations with organizational priorities. The ideal candidate will leverage data, storytelling and innovative approaches to grow the Trust Fund’s resource base, while ensuring alignment with its values of integrity, transparency and impact.

Job Description/Requirements
Business Development and Resource Mobilization (60%)
a) Develop, implement and regularly update a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy aligned with the Trust Fund’s strategic objectives.
b) Identify, screen and cultivate potential funding sources including corporates, non-profits, bilateral/multilateral agencies, High-Net-Worth Individuals, and other partners.
c) Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals, concept notes, grant applications, sponsorship packages and partner reports.
d) Innovate and diversify funding streams, including exploring digital resource mobilization, crowdfunding and cause marketing.
e) Track resource mobilization targets and pipeline using partner databases; prepare and present regular progress reports to management and the Board.
f) Ensure compliance with partner requirements and reporting requirement and standards and champion ethical resource mobilization practices.
Partnership Development and Management (20%)
a) Build, cultivate and manage strategic relationships with corporate partners, government agencies (both County and National), national and international NGOs and community- based organizations.
b) Develop and implement partner engagement plans to foster collaborative opportunities and maximize shared impact.
c) Negotiate partnership agreements, MoUs and contracts to support long-term collaboration and sustainability.
d) Serve as the Trust Fund’s key representative in external engagements, ensuring professional visibility and credibility in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and related ddevelopment sectors.
Communication, Advocacy, and Representation (10%)
a) Develop compelling external communication materials, partner briefings, case studies and IEC resources that highlight the Trust Fund’s impact.
b) Prepare internal reports, board updates and presentations for Trustees, partners and key stakeholders.
c) Represent the Trust Fund at conferences, workshops, partner forums and networking events to enhance visibility and attract support.
d) Lead in organizing partner visits, partner meetings, resource mobilization events and other engagement activities.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Reporting (10%)
a) Monitor and evaluate resource mobilization and partnership initiatives against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks.
b) Capture and document impact stories, lessons learned and best practices for continuous improvement, dissemination, and to influence policy.
c) Maintain up-to-date records of partnerships, partner engagement and funding secured to support transparency and accountability.
d) Promote knowledge sharing and learning across the organization to enhance resource mobilization effectiveness.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Academic Qualifications
a) Masters’ degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration or a related field.
Professional Experience
a) Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in resource mobilization, business development and partnership management within a non-profit, development agency or CSR function.
b) At least three (3) years in a mid-level or senior management role.
c) Demonstrated success in securing significant grants, partnerships or sponsorships from corporates, governments, foundations or institutional partners.
d) Experience in designing and implementing resource mobilization strategies, including use of digital platforms.
e) Experience working in the WASH sector or related development fields in Kenya is an added advantage.

a) Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with a results-oriented approach.
b) Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
c) Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to create persuasive proposals and presentations.
d) Strong understanding of partner landscape in Kenya and the region.
e) Ability to manage complex projects and multi-stakeholder relationships.
f) Financial literacy with the ability to manage budgets and demonstrate return on investment for resource mobilization activities.
g) High level of integrity, accountability and commitment to ethical resource mobilization practices.
h) Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage competing priorities in a fast- paced environment.
i) Proficiency in MS Office, partner management software and social media for resource mobilization/advocacy.
