Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of their client in the FMCG/Distribution industry, is looking for a results-driven and proactive Sales Supervisor. The Sales Supervisor will be responsible for driving sales performance through effective distributor management and direct oversight of assigned customers. The role focuses on ensuring achievement of sales targets, maintaining product availability and visibility, and optimizing in-store execution through collaboration with distributors, merchandisers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, analytical, and relationship management skills, with the ability to balance strategic planning and day-to-day execution.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with distributors to achieve sales targets across assigned product categories.
Monitor distributor performance to ensure alignment with pricing, promotions, and overall
sales strategies.
Conduct regular trade audits to ensure product availability, eliminate stockouts, and maintain
optimal visibility across outlets.
Collaborate with and train merchandisers to ensure effective in-store execution, product
placement, and compliance with merchandising standards.
Support distributors in executing sales plans, promotional activities, and ensuring consistent
market supply.
Conduct performance reviews with distributors to identify growth opportunities and areas for
improvement.
Prepare and submit regular sales reports, tracking distributor performance against targets and
providing actionable insights.
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute targeted promotions and sales
campaigns.
Oversee stock movement and ensure timely deliveries and efficient stock management across
outlets.
Manage third-party teams to ensure efficiency, accountability, and achievement of set targets.
Provide market intelligence and insights on emerging trends to support business decision-
making.
Evaluate trade activities to ensure maximum return on investment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales with a proven track record of achieving targets.
Proven experience working with distributors and managing distributor relationships.
Experience conducting trade audits and working with merchandisers to ensure product visibility
and availability.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Self-driven with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
