Job descriptions & requirements
1. Outbound Calls & Lead Management
● Make a minimum number of outbound calls daily to prospective parents and students to generate interest in the STEM Academy programmes.
● Follow up on leads from walk-ins, online enquiries, social media, and referrals consistently and promptly.
● Maintain an up-to-date record of all leads, follow-up activities, and call outcomes.
● Handle objections professionally and guide prospects through the enrolment decision.
2. Demo Booking & Facilitation
● Book and coordinate product demonstrations for prospective students and parents, both virtually and in person.
● Prepare and deliver engaging demo sessions that showcase the coding, AI, and IoT curriculum and learning outcomes.
● Ensure every demo is followed up with a clear next step, whether enrolment, a second session, or a scheduled callback.
● Work towards converting a defined percentage of demos into active enrolments.
3. Enrolment & Onboarding
● Guide parents and students through the full enrolment process, from initial interest to payment and class commencement.
● Ensure every enrolled student is properly onboarded, including introductions to the class structure, schedule, tools, and expectations.
● Coordinate with the STEM Academy team to confirm class placements and communicate student details ahead of the first session.
● Maintain accurate enrolment records and provide regular updates on new student numbers.
4. Programme Knowledge — Coding, AI & IoT
● Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the STEM Academy’s Coding, Artificial Intelligence, and Internet of Things programmes, including curriculum content, age groups, session structure, and outcomes.
● Communicate programme benefits clearly and confidently to parents, schools, and institutional partners.
● Stay informed on updates to the curriculum and incorporate new information into sales conversations and demos.
● Support awareness of how STEM skills prepare students for future careers and opportunities in technology.
5. Reporting & Target Accountability
● Submit daily and weekly activity reports covering calls made, demos conducted, enrolments secured, and pipeline status.
● Work consistently towards set monthly enrolment targets and report on progress regularly.
● Flag challenges affecting conversion or pipeline activity early and propose solutions.
6. Parent & Student Engagement
● Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and students to encourage continued enrolment and referrals.
● Act as a supportive point of contact for enrolled students and their parents during the early stages of the programme.
● Gather and share feedback from parents and students to help improve the enrolment experience and programme delivery.
Skills Required
Sales & Communication Skills
● Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to speak clearly, confidently, and persuasively on calls and during demonstrations.
● Ability to handle objections calmly and steer conversations towards a positive outcome.
● Good listening skills to understand what parents and students are looking for and match them to the right programme.
● Target-driven mindset with the ability to stay motivated and consistent in a sales environment.
Technology & STEM Knowledge
● A genuine interest in STEM education, particularly coding, AI, and IoT, and the ability to explain these concepts to a non-technical audience.
● Comfortable using digital tools including virtual meeting platforms, CRM systems, WhatsApp, and email for outreach and follow-up.
● Ability to learn and stay updated on curriculum content and technology trends relevant to the academy’s offerings.
Organisational & People Skills
● Good time management and planning skills to handle multiple leads and follow-ups simultaneously.
● Warm, approachable, and professional in interactions with parents, students, and colleagues.
● Able to work independently and take ownership of daily tasks and targets without needing constant follow-up.
● Team player who can coordinate effectively with the STEM Academy delivery team.
Qualifications & Requirements
★ Mandatory Requirements
The following are non-negotiable and must be met for your application to be considered.
● ★ Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Education, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. This is a mandatory requirement.
● ★ Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a sales, customer engagement, or education-related role. This is mandatory.
● ★ Demonstrated ability to make outbound calls and follow up consistently on leads.
● ★ Strong spoken English with the ability to present and communicate clearly to parents and students.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
● Experience in the education, EdTech, or technology sector is an added advantage.
● Familiarity with coding concepts, AI, or IoT — even at a basic level — is highly desirable.
● Prior experience booking and conducting product demonstrations or enrolment sessions.
● Experience working with a CRM system or sales tracking tool.
● Ability to converse in Swahili in addition to English.
