Tours and Travel Assistant Manager
SUMMARY
We are a fast-growing Tours and Travel agency based in Nairobi, focusing in safaris and travel abroad solutions. We are looking for someone for the position of Assistant Manager, we need someone who is ambitious and adventurous.
To be a successful candidate, you should have a strong working knowledge of travel management processes and excellent attention to detail.
DESCRIPTION
* Interacting with walk-in clients and guiding them on our travel services
* Assist in creating and implementing a business plan and strategy for our agency based on pre-discussed KPIs (number of sales, average spend, customer footfall, etc.)
* Set targets and objectives for both the agency as a whole as well as individual team members
* Actively find ways to better promote our agency to increase our customer base and footfall on-site
* Find ways to both monitor and improve customer satisfaction rates
* Negotiate pricing and commission models with external stakeholders and partner travel companies
* Report progress and present store statistics to our board of directors on a regular basis (e.g. quarterly)
* Revise and optimize agency policies and procedures to maximize efficiency and profitability
* Assist to lead the team and guide, assist, and support where necessary to ensure great employee satisfaction and retention
* Participate in the development of annual marketing strategies
* Choose the best advertising channels for different marketing projects
* Determine project priority and participate in the creation of marketing collateral
* Improve existing marketing strategies by tracking KPIs and adjusting departmental processes accordingly
* Develop a success-tracking system
* Maintaining positive relationships with vendors of direct travel, such as car rentals, hotels, and airlines.
* Managing and processing all travel-related documentation, including payments, itineraries, visas, medical, and legal forms.
* Assisting with any travel-related issues that may arise.
* Research travel deals and evaluate prices and services.
* Creating, optimizing, and monitoring corporate travel policies.
* Preparing travel budget reports.
* Analyzing and preparing reports on travel spend.
EDUCATION
* A bachelor's degree in business, tourism, travel or hospitality is required.
* Certification in travel or hospitality may be advantageous.
MORE DETAILS ON EXPERIENCE
* 5 years of experience in the Marketing industry
* Tourism Marketing experience is preferred.
* A minimum of 5 years experience in the travel industry.
* A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
