Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities
A. Sales & Customer Service
Welcome customers, assess their needs, and recommend suitable beauty products.
Explain product benefits, usage instructions, and expected results.
Upsell and cross-sell products professionally.
Handle customer queries, complaints, and returns in a timely manner.
B. Shop Management
- Open and close the shop; ensure the shop is clean and well-presented.
- Manage stock levels daily and ensure shelves are always fully stocked.
- Track fast-moving and slow-moving items and advise management.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards.
- Ensure all equipment and displays are in good working condition.
C. Order & Inventory Management
- Receive, record, and process all customer orders (walk-ins, online, WhatsApp, Instagram).
- Track deliveries, follow up with courier services, and ensure timely dispatch.
- Conduct weekly stock counts and prepare inventory reports.
- Identify when to reorder and share procurement needs with the owner.
D. Technical Expertise (Product Specialist)
- Understand all beauty products, ingredients, and skin types.
- Guide customers on correct product combinations, routines, and safety.
- Stay updated on beauty trends and new product launches.
- Provide basic product demonstrations or mini consultations.
E. Cash & Records Management
- Handle daily sales transactions (cash, M-Pesa, POS).
- Maintain daily sales logs, receipts, and end-of-day reports.
- Ensure accurate cash reconciliation.
F. Marketing Support
- Create simple content (videos, photos, product descriptions) for social media.
- Share promotions, new arrivals, and beauty tips with customers.
- Assist in growing client loyalty and repeat sales.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Certificate or diploma in Beauty Therapy, Cosmetology, or a related field.
- 1–2 years experience in beauty retail or a cosmetic shop.
- Strong knowledge of skincare, hair care, and beauty products.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good computer skills (POS systems, inventory apps, WhatsApp Business).
- Honest, organized, reliable, and sales-driven.
