Job Title: CFS – Business Development Manager (Chinese Speaking)
Location: Nairobi
Industry: Logistics / Freight Forwarding / Container Freight Station

Purpose of the Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to lead the commercial sales operations for our Container Freight Station (CFS) division. The ideal candidate will design and execute strategic initiatives to increase revenue, grow the client base, and elevate the customer experience. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is preferred to support our growing presence in Chinese-speaking markets.

1. Revenue growth in line with set targets
2. Expansion of customer base and market share
3. Cost efficiency in sales operations
4. Compliance with policies and standards
5. Effective team leadership and management

Responsibilities & Duties
1.    Develop and execute comprehensive commercial sales strategies aligned with organizational goals.
2.    Identify new market segments and growth opportunities through networking, data analysis, and client interactions.
3.    Design customized logistics solutions tailored to individual client needs and CFS service capabilities.
4.    Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and evolving customer preferences.
5.    Lead high-level client engagements including presentations, negotiations, and contract closures.
6.    Foster strong, long-term relationships with key clients to ensure retention and satisfaction.
7.    Manage and mentor a high-performing sales team to consistently meet or exceed performance benchmarks.
8.    Provide timely and accurate reports on sales performance, KPIs, pipeline activity, and forecasting.
9.    Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client forums to promote brand visibility and market intelligence.

Qualifications & Experience
•      Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related discipline
•      5+ years of proven experience in business development or sales within logistics, freight forwarding, or CFS sectors
•      Solid understanding of commercial sales strategy, client acquisition, and relationship management
•      Fluent communication, persuasive negotiation, and strong interpersonal skills
•      Proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding revenue and market expansion targets
•      Mandarin Chinese language proficiency (spoken and written) is highly preferred to support regional client engagement
