Job Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the overall strategic direction, growth, and performance of the Nawiri Digital Bank. The role focuses on driving innovation in digital financial services, strengthening operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering sustainable profitability. The CEO will be responsible for execution of the bank’s multi-tier digital ecosystem encompassing My Account, My Payments, My Savings, My Loans, My Investments, My Remittance, and My Marketplace — powered through a global technology and financial infrastructure connecting fintech partners, banks, merchants, and consumers.

Job Description/Requirements
Location: Nairobi, Kenya / Dubai (Hybrid – with periodic travel between markets)
Reports To: Board of Directors, Nawiri Digital Bank Group
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the digital bank’s strategic vision and growth roadmap across multiple business floors (My Account to My Marketplace).
- Drive market expansion and adoption of the digital ecosystem regionally and globally.
- Oversee development of strategic partnerships with financial institutions, fintechs, regulators, and enterprise clients.
- Guide cross-functional pods (A: MVP Delivery, B: QA & UAT, C: GTM) to achieve seamless execution.
2. Financial Performance & Governance
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and performance management to ensure profitability and sustainability.
- Manage capital allocation, investor relations, and board reporting.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, AML/CFT frameworks, and data privacy standards.
- Drive operational risk management and internal control mechanisms.
3. Product & Technology Oversight
- Champion product innovation and user experience across all digital banking floors:
o My Account (KYC, Account Opening, Agent360, QR Payments)
o My Payments (Deposit, Withdraw, P2P, Bill Pay, PesaLink, Merchant Pay)
o My Savings, Loans, Investments, Remittance & Marketplace ecosystems
- Ensure secure, scalable, and interoperable technology infrastructure.
- Oversee integration with key partners (e.g., JamboPay, Sidian Bank, PesaLink, TapTap Send, EN Money, etc.).
4. Business Development & Market Growth
- Lead GTM (Go-To-Market) strategy for onboarding users, merchants, agents, and institutional partners.
- Identify new revenue streams and drive customer acquisition and retention.
- Build a strong brand presence through marketing, partnerships, and corporate social initiatives.
5. People & Culture
- Build a high-performing leadership team to drive digital innovation, operations, and customer engagement.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusivity, and continuous learning.
- Mentor and develop senior management to achieve strategic alignment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in digital banking, fintech, or financial services.
- Proven record in scaling digital platforms or neobanks.
- Deep understanding of financial regulations, payments systems, and digital innovation frameworks.
- Experience managing distributed teams across multiple countries.
- Excellent stakeholder management and investor relations skills.
