Job summary
The Cleaner will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment across all Nairobi Central Hardware Limited premises. The role involves routine cleaning, sanitation, basic maintenance support, and messenger duties as assigned. The Cleaner plays a key role in upholding health and safety standards, maintaining company facilities, and supporting daily operations through flexibility, reliability, and effective communication.

SALARY: 16-18K
INTRODUCTION:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Sweep and mop floors daily.
- Dust surfaces, furniture, and fixtures.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms (toilets, sinks, and fixtures) every two (2) hours.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
- Maintain cleanliness of working areas including countertops, sinks, and appliances.
- Clean the display area, including occasional use of air blowers to remove excess dust.
- Wash mugs and spoons used by clients during the day.
- Wash company vehicles as scheduled.
- Refill consumables such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
2. Maintenance Support
- Report any maintenance issues or repair needs promptly.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as:
Changing light bulbs
Fixing minor leaks
- Support painting of walls and related upkeep as required.
3. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all company health and safety regulations.
- Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.
- Comply with waste disposal and recycling guidelines.
4. Messenger & Errand Duties
- Collect urgent items from nearby clients.
- Make deliveries to nearby clients when required.
- Run official errands as assigned by management.
5. Communication & Coordination
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding tasks and issues.
- Notify management in a timely manner of required cleaning supplies or equipment.
6. Flexibility & Availability
- Adapt to changing cleaning needs and work schedules.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends when required.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Ability to follow instructions and cleaning schedules.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
- Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Prior experience is an added experience
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant academic certificates,or letters of recommendation
- Updated CV including three professional referees (with phone and email)
- National ID, Police Clearance Report is mandatory.
