2. Key Responsibilities2.1 Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the unit’s vision, strategy, and market positioning
- Establish the unit as a high-impact, revenue-generating advisory function
- Align unit goals with broader organisational objectives
2.2 Business Development & Demand Generation
- Identify, target, and engage clients across government, private sector, and institutions
- Translate business challenges into paid research and advisory opportunities
- Build, manage, and sustain a strong sales and opportunity pipeline
2.3 Client Engagement & Advisory
- Lead high-level client engagements and strategic discussions
- Diagnose client challenges and design tailored solution frameworks
- Present insights, reports, and recommendations to senior decision-makers
2.4 Research Oversight & Delivery
- Oversee the design, execution, and delivery of research projects
- Ensure outputs are practical, insight-driven, and actionable
- Maintain high standards of quality, credibility, and relevance
2.5 Revenue & Commercial Performance
- Drive consistent revenue growth and profitability for the unit
- Meet and exceed defined revenue targets
- Optimise pricing strategies and project margins
2.6 Team Leadership & Management
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing multidisciplinary team
- Allocate roles, manage performance, and support professional development
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and results
2.7 Partnerships & Stakeholder Management
- Develop strategic partnerships with institutions, industry bodies, and key stakeholders
- Position the unit as a trusted intelligence and advisory partner
2.8 Operational Execution & Performance Tracking
- Develop and implement SOPs and operational frameworks
- Track performance metrics including pipeline, conversions, revenue, and delivery
- Conduct regular performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

- Revenue growth and targets achieved
- Number of deals closed and conversion rate
- Strength and sustainability of business pipeline
- Client satisfaction, retention, and repeat business

4. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field
- Master’s degree is an added advantage
- 5–10 years’ experience in consulting, research, strategy, or advisory roles
- Strong commercial acumen and business development expertise
- Proven leadership, stakeholder engagement, and team management skills
