Job Summary

Our client in the technology industry is seeking a competent, organized, and self-driven People & Culture Assistant to join their dynamic team. This position will play a central role in ensuring the smooth running of all HR operations, implementing people strategies, and fostering a positive, compliant, and productive work environment.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and implement HR administrative functions, ensuring effective HR operations and compliance with Kenyan labour laws.
  2. Prepare and manage employment contracts, job descriptions, and personnel records, maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.
  3. Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes to attract highly skilled professionals in the tech and telecoms sectors.
  4. Manage payroll, benefits administration, and statutory requirements in line with company policies and legal standards.\
  5.  Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries.
  6.  Support in handling employee grievances and escalating issues appropriately.
  7.  Help communicate HR policies, procedures, and updates to staff.
  8. Handle disciplinary and grievance matters while ensuring fairness, consistency, and adherence to the Employment Act.
  1. Administer employee leave management, transfers, promotions, confirmations, and exits.
  2. Support workplace health, safety, and wellness programs in collaboration with the EHS Manager.
  3. Track performance appraisal schedules and collect evaluation reports.
  4. Develop and maintain HR systems and databases, ensuring accurate and timely information management.
  5. Promote a positive, innovative, and inclusive workplace culture through employee engagement and team-building initiatives.
  6. Prepare HR reports and advise management on HR trends, metrics, and strategic improvements.


Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the technology, IT, or telecommunications industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of the Employment Act, labour relations, and HR best practices in Kenya.
  4. Proficiency in HR software, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
