Job Description/Requirements
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales by understanding customer requirements, presenting appropriate technical solutions, and providing pre- and post-sales support. S/He will bridge the gap between our technical team and the client, ensuring seamless delivery of solutions tailored to the client's needs.
1. Sales Development:
- Identify and target potential customers, including contractors, businesses, and government agencies that require generator solutions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients to grow sales in the Cummins generator product line.
2. Technical Support:
- Provide technical expertise and support to customers, including product application, selection, and specifications.
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to educate customers on generator features and benefits.
3. Proposal and Quotation Management:
- Prepare detailed and accurate quotes for customers, ensuring alignment with their requirements and project specifications.
- Analyze customer needs and recommend appropriate Cummins generator solutions.
4. Market Research and Analysis:
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to develop effective sales strategies.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and marketing approaches.
5. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure products are delivered according to customer specifications and timelines.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials and campaigns that highlight Cummins generators.
6. Customer Service and Retention:
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Follow up with customers post-sale to ensure proper installation, operation, and maintenance of generators.
7. Training and Development:
- Stay current on product knowledge, industry standards, and technological advancements related to power generation solutions.
- Train customers and internal staff on generator systems and operations.
8. Sales Reporting and Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain healthy pipeline with a view of meeting monthly targets.
- Attend weekly sales review and update on sales status in relation to agreed monthly targets.
9. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all sales practices comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote safety culture by educating customers on safe operation and maintenance of generators.
10. Networking and Participation in Events:
- Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and workshops to network and expand business opportunities
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or a similar role.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, preferably in the industrial or engineering sectors
- Experience in client-facing roles with strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong technical competence with the ability to grasp complex product features and applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Self-driven, goal-oriented, and customer-focused.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a consultative sales approach.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, CRM software, and sales reporting tools.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
- Knowledge of CAD software or technical drawing interpretation.
- Professional sales training or certification.
