Position title: Sales Executive – Waste Collection

Reports to: Sales Team Leader

Location: Nairobi

​​Takataka Solutions (K) Ltd is a social enterprise and the largest waste management and recycling company in Kenya. We are fully vertically integrated and are active in: waste collection, sorting at material recovery facilities, composting of organic waste, buying materials from waste workers at dumpsites, plastic recycling and hazardous waste incineration. Our average recycling rate is 90%, which is one of the highest recycling rates in the world. We have been operating since 2011, manage more than 2,500 tons of waste every month and employ 700 staff.

Summary of Role

Takataka Solutions is looking to recruit passionate sales team member(s) to sell our waste collection services to a variety of urban waste producers (middle-income, high- income and commercial clients).

  • Monthly Achievement of Collection Sales Contract Value (85%)
  • Documentation & Schedule (12%)
  • Reporting & Others (3%)

The candidate will report to the Sales Team Leader. The candidate is expected to spend the majority of time in the field.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Monthly achievement of Collection Sales Contract Value Target (80%)
  • Ensuring the achievement of monthly and quarterly collection contract target
  • Direct selling of waste collection services to residential and commercial properties
  • Physical cold calling of different prospects that could lead to contract
  • Building of leads with caretakers, landlords, and real estate managers that can be converted into sales
  • Navigating the sales process, to discern who the decision-making process is for the prospect
  • Advise and collaborative work with the prospect on the type of service they need
  • Send appropriate information and technical reports to the clients for quotation on a timely manner
  • Manage existing clients, to ensure contracts get renew or renegotiate terms
  • Prepare client-specific questions before a site visit, ensuring visits are taken place on the day of the collection or as close to the day of collection as possible
  • Proactively help customer by answering questions and responding to their request

Documentation and Schedule

  • Ensuring all data collected in the field is uploaded on the CRM system on a timely manner
  • Ensuring all daily and weekly plan report is submitted on a timely manner with accuracy
  • Ensuring all daily and weekly deliverables are submitted on a timely manner with accuracy
  • Implement feedback from sales team leader and data verification team on a timely manner
  • Ensure all commitments are documented and followed through on a timely manner


Reporting & Others

  • Daily and weekly reporting to the Sales Team Leader
  • Collaborate with internal team to design appropriate solutions for more complex services
  • Review weekly reports together with the Sales Team Leader
  • Performing any other duties as required.

Qualifications

-        At least 1-2 years’ work experience in sales with high performance


-        Previous experience in solution selling of complex products or services (as opposed to selling of physical products like FMCG). Example segments include: facility management, security, IT.


-        Diploma or bachelor’s degree


-        Highly analytical and systematic approach to sales


-        Fluent in English and Swahili


-        Competent in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint,
