Job Description/Requirements
- Develop and implement a robust sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key clients such as hospitals, orthopedic clinics, rehabilitation centers, physiotherapists, doctors, and medical distributors.
- Manage institutional sales and tenders, especially with government, hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, pharmacies and healthcare networks.
- Monitor competitor activities and recommend pricing and product positioning strategies.
- Identify and explore new business opportunities to maximize market coverage and revenue growth.
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns to promote orthopedic and rehab products (e.g., Orthopedics supports and braces, mobility aids, Physiotherapy equipment’s etc.).
- Develop marketing materials, product brochures, presentations, and digital content.
- Organize and participate in medical conferences, CMEs (Continuing Medical Education), and awareness trainings.
- Manage the company’s digital presence including websites, social media platforms, and online advertising.
- Conduct market research to understand trends, customer preferences, and new opportunities.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring the timely delivery of products.
- Train internal sales teams and external healthcare partners on product usage and benefits.
- Collaborate with product development or manufacturing teams to refine product offerings based on market feedback.
- Launch new products in the market and ensure adequate promotional support.
- Maintain CRM systems to track leads, opportunities, and client communications.
- Analyze sales data, prepare regular performance reports, and share insights with senior leadership.
- Forecast sales, plan budgets, and control marketing expenses within allocated limits.
- Supervise, Mentor and motivate a team of field sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Lead the sales team in driving product distribution and increasing market penetration across East Africa
- Provide training and guidance to ensure the sales team is equipped with the necessary skills and product knowledge to succeed.
- Establish performance metrics and regularly review progress with team members.
- Act as a coach and mentor, nurturing talent, addressing gaps, and motivating the team to exceed targets.
- Own and be accountable for achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Use historical data and pipeline analysis to project sales trends and develop contingency plans.
- Lead efforts to not just gain new clients but expand the share of wallet with existing customers through upselling, cross-selling, and education.
- Use CRM and analytics tools to monitor sales funnel efficiency, campaign ROI, and team productivity.
- Stay ahead of competitors by analyzing pricing, product innovation, and market activities.
- Lead planning for sales and marketing budgets and ensure effective ROI from all sales and marketing investments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of sales and marketing experience, preferably in orthopedic, rehabilitation, or medical device industries.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing marketing campaigns.
- Strong knowledge of orthopedic and rehabilitation products, their uses, and customer base.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, exhibitions, and field visits.
