Our client, a leading Deposit Taking Sacco licensed by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA), offers a wide range of savings and loan products with a commitment to delivering excellent member service. The Sacco is registered under the Cooperative Societies Act Cap 491 and seeks to recruit a competent and experienced ICT professional on permanent and pensionable terms, based on satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities
● Provide technical support across all ICT systems including desktop, server, network, and core banking infrastructure.
● Ensure the smooth operation, security, and optimization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Core Banking System).
● Oversee mobile banking channels, USSD, and integration with third-party payment systems (e.g., M-Pesa, agency banking, and online platforms).
● Manage hardware and software upgrades, ensuring system reliability and minimal downtime.
● Monitor and maintain the Society’s LAN/WAN, internet, and power backup systems.
● Conduct security monitoring — detect, report, and mitigate cyber threats, intrusions, or unauthorized access.
● Ensure compliance with information security best practices and relevant regulatory standards (e.g., SASRA ICT Guidelines).
● Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act of Kenya in all ICT operations, especially in handling members’ personal and financial data.
● Manage ICT service requests and incidents per the Society’s ICT Service Management policy.
● Support website maintenance, SEO, and online content updates in liaison with the Marketing and Business Development team.
● Support automation and digital transformation initiatives, including process optimization and data analytics.
● Train and mentor ICT staff and other department users to enhance system utilization and security awareness.
● Provide technical input in ICT budgeting, procurement, and policy formulation.
Requirements
● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
● At least 5 years of relevant ICT experience, 3 of which must be in a supervisory or team leadership role in a financial institution or Sacco environment.
● Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Dynamics 365 Business Central.
● Proven experience in mobile and digital banking channel support and integrations.
● Demonstrated understanding of network administration, system security, backup management, and disaster recovery.
● Basic information security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, ISO/IEC 27001
● awareness, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
