MeshPlusPlus, a hardware startup with offices and assembly lines in Chicago, Illinois, USA and Nairobi, Kenya, seeks a Technical Sales Manager who can gain and deploy nuanced technical expertise on the company’s Solar-Powered Mesh Routers in order to generate and advance new sales for the product.

Job Description/Requirements
A qualifying Technical Sales Manager:
- Has at least 4 years of work experience with proven track record of weaving technical and sales skills to help customers understand, evaluate, and adopt complex products or solutions
- Is extremely organized, facile with CRM usage (specifically Hubspot), extremely responsive to inquiries from various sources, maintaining an “Inbox of zero.”
- Is proactive, working closely with customers to assess needs, provide technical demonstrations, and support the sales team in closing deals by bridging the gap between technical and commercial requirements.
Specific job responsibilities include:
A) Direct Sales Activities
- Respond to all inbound sales inquiries, including direct emails, form completions, network design tool proposals etc. across all channels, including Hubspot, general and personal company email accounts.
- Identify new markets and new product opportunities.
- Develop new accounts by researching and identifying potential leads, soliciting new business, building connections, providing technical information and advice, and preparing quotes.
- Share market research findings with marketing, product development and R&D.
- Establish direct sales opportunities for Mesh++ products with potential clients, resellers & distributors.
B) Market Intelligence
- Build out and develop new customer applications for our products;
- Generate lists of target customer across sectors and map differing approaches for each;
- Develop deep market understanding, including of competitors.
- Assist in preparation of comparisons with competitors.
- Provide feedback and input from our own markets to help shape marketing strategy for all Mesh++ products and services.
- Assist customers in finding the best solutions to their challenges, whether Mesh++ products or not.
C) Promotion
- Assist where required in design, production and co-ordination of all marketing collateral, exhibition graphics and press releases.
- Coordinate of and Representation at trade fair/recruitment exhibitions, including follow up of contacts
- Seek out promotional opportunities for Mesh++ products
- Manage social media profiles (where applicable)
- Aid in developing the Mesh++ brand definition
D) Product understanding and technical support
- Develop an in-depth product understanding– its features and configurations– so advanced that you are able to recommend and suggest solutions to customers
- Assist customers in the operation of their products and organize support for problems they may have
- Demonstrate the technical operation of our equipment.
- Help Customers in the design and layout of their networks
- Provide guidance on third-party resources for funding, legal mounting, and ISP connectivity
E) General
- Accept ownership for maintaining and expanding sales and accomplishing all assigned tasks
- Provide feedback both from customers and directly to influence future features and offerings
F) Social Media Management
- Draft and sharing relevant Social Media Contents covering products and company events on various social media
- Engage with customer Inquiries on the official media pages
G) Marketing Administration
- Respond to official queries on Company parent emails
- Engage and ensure successful product delivery to end customer
- First point of contact for business queries pre/post sales
H) Resources to Handle
- Market Budget for events throughout the financial Year
- Assist in production of marketing materials for events
