Primary Purpose
The Agriculture and Livestock Officer is responsible for coordinating livestock, dairy, poultry, and agribusiness programmes within the branch, while providing technical support, stakeholder engagement, and oversight of agricultural exhibitions, training programmes, and industry initiatives.

Job Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
· At least 2-3 years' relevant experience in livestock production, poultry production and management, dairy management, agribusiness, agricultural extension, or a related area.
· Knowledge of livestock production systems, dairy farming, poultry production, animal health, and agribusiness value chains. Experience in organizing agricultural exhibitions, field days, trainings, and stakeholder engagement activities.
· Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems.
· Knowledge of cooperative development, farmers' organizations, and agricultural policies will be an added advantage.
· Excellent communication, report writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills.
· Ability to conduct research, analyze data, and provide technical advice on emerging trends in the livestock and agribusiness sectors.
Job Description
· Serve as the liaison between the branch and organizers of specialized shows and exhibitions.
· Source and coordinate for off-show exhibitions and specialized shows.
· Organize training programmes for members, staff, and stakeholders on agriculture and livestock-related topics.
· Coordinate and manage livestock- and dairy-related matters for the branch.
· Coordinate and provide technical support on poultry production and management activities.
· Maintain and manage the branch agribusiness database, ensuring timely updates and data integrity.
· Assist with branch Kenya Ploughing Organization and Young Farmers Club of Kenya programmes and activites.
· Oversee timely update of the schedule of classes.
· Liaise with stakeholders in the agribusiness sectors on various matters relating to the branch.
· Advise the CEO on matters related Kenya Livestock Breeders Association.
· Research emerging trends in the livestock, dairy, poultry, and agribusiness sectors and provide appropriate technical advice.
· Any other business as may be assigned by the Branch Manager.
