Job descriptions & requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement fisheries and aquaculture projects and activities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to fish farmers, fisherfolk, and community groups.
- Conduct field assessments, surveys, and data collection on fisheries resources.
- Monitor fish production, harvesting, processing, and marketing activities.
- Promote sustainable fisheries management practices and environmental conservation.
- Prepare technical reports, project updates, and recommendations.
- Facilitate training and capacity-building programs for stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with fisheries regulations, policies, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with government agencies, research institutions, and development partners.
- Support project planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Marine Science, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in fisheries management, aquaculture, or community-based natural resource projects.
- Knowledge of fisheries regulations, aquaculture systems, and sustainable resource management.
- Experience in project implementation, data collection, and report writing.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel frequently to field locations.
