About Us

Kenyos Wood and Interiors is a premier manufacturer of high-quality cabinets, doors, wardrobes, and bespoke wood interiors for residential and commercial construction projects. We combine craftsmanship with modern manufacturing to deliver exceptional wood products and design solutions.

The Role

We seek an accomplished General Manager with 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience to oversee our entire operation. You will drive efficiency, profitability, and growth while ensuring world-class production standards.

Key Responsibilities

    • Lead end-to-end operations: production, procurement, inventory, maintenance, and quality control.

    • Optimize manufacturing processes using Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies.

    • Manage P&L, budgets, and resource allocation to achieve financial targets.

    • Develop and execute strategic plans to expand market share and product lines.

    • Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

    • Mentor and lead cross-functional teams (production, design, sales, admin).

    • Strengthen relationships with contractors, developers, and clients.

    • Implement technology/automation to enhance productivity.

Qualifications

    • Mandatory: 10+ years in manufacturing operations, with 5+ years in senior leadership (Plant Manager, Operations Director, or GM).

    • Critical: Proven track record managing P&L, budgets, and teams in a medium-to-large manufacturing facility.

    • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or operational excellence frameworks.

    • Strong knowledge of supply chain management, ERP systems, and production planning.

    • Experience in furniture, wood products, construction materials, or related sectors is preferred but not mandatory.

    • Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.

Ideal Candidate

    • A hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives on the production floor.

    • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.

    • Proven ability to improve KPIs: efficiency, cost reduction, OTIF, and quality.

    • Passion for building high-performance teams and sustainable operations.

Why Join Us?

    • Lead a growing brand at the heart of Nairobi’s industrial landscape.

    • Drive innovation in Kenya’s construction and design sector.

    • Competitive salary, performance bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.

    • Dynamic culture focused on quality, integrity, and teamwork.

Kenyos Wood and Interiors is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment.

Key Changes & Why:

Reduced Wood Emphasis:

    • Changed requirement from "non-negotiable wood background" → "Experience in furniture/wood products preferred but not mandatory."

    • Focus shifted to core manufacturing leadership competencies (P&L, Lean, supply chain).

Location Clarity:

    • Added "Nairobi Industrial Area, Kenya" to title and location field.

    • Reinforced local context in "Why Join Us?" section.

Broader Manufacturing Focus:

    • Highlighted transferable sectors (e.g., construction materials, furniture).

    • Emphasized technical skills (ERP, Lean, automation) over industry-specific knowledge.

Stronger Leadership Messaging:

    • "Proven track record managing P&L, budgets, and teams" as a non-negotiable requirement.

    • "Hands-on manufacturing leader" in ideal candidate profile.

    • Include specific KPIs: e.g., Managed 50+ production staff, improved OTIF by 20%

    • Highlight growth opportunities: e.g., Clear succession path to COO or regional leadership
