Job Summary

The Business Developer Wholesale is responsible for driving market expansion and penetration by converting market opportunities into long-term, profitable commercial partnerships. This role leads the entire acquisition cycle, from prospecting and market analysis to onboarding and initial growth, ultimately accelerating business expansion and building scalable commercial foundations aligned with the brand's strategic goals.

Job Description/Requirements

KEY EXPECTATION

 Develop Decathlon business in the East African Countries by unlocking strong and long business contracts with :

- Resellers

- Distributors

- Major Companies /NGOs/Schools

 Key Responsibilities

● Develop and Acquire New Customers: Build a qualified pipeline, conduct market mapping, and lead the end-to-end acquisition process to identify and engage potential partners.

● Build Sustainable Commercial Partnerships: Define commercial conditions, negotiate product ranges, and create a strategy for onboarding new partners, ensuring a smooth operational setup with internal teams (e.g., supply, finance, digital).

● Drive Growth of New Accounts (3-6 months): Monitor sell-in/sell-through performance, identify quick wins, and organize support (training, marketing) to accelerate the ramp-up phase before handing the account over to a Key Account Manager.

● Contribute to Business Channel Expansion Strategy: Share market data, benchmark competition, and collaborate on building efficient onboarding and sales enablement processes to support the overall channel development and scalability.

Must-Have Prerequisites

● Education: Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or International Trade.

● Experience: Proven track record of developing new clients, growing existing accounts, and working effectively in cross-functional teams.

● Specific Knowledge: Deep understanding of wholesale and distribution models, sport retail market dynamics, and contract negotiation, margin management, and pricing structures.

● Analytical Ability: Strong ability to analyze sales performance, market potential, and competitor activity.
