The HR Assistant will support all HR functions including recruitment, payroll, performance management, staff orientation, employee relations, and policy administration. The role ensures compliance with labour laws, manages staff records, prepares HR reports, and fosters strong workplace relations.

Job Description/Requirements
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Ensure that accurate job descriptions are in place
2. Provide advice and assistance when conducting staff performance evaluations
3. Provide staff orientations
4. Monitor daily attendance.
5. Payroll preparation including statutory deductions computations
6. Investigate and understand causes for staff absences.
7. Coordinate staff recruitment and selection process in order to ensure a timely organized and comprehensive procedure is used to hire staff.
8. Schedule and organize interviews and Participate in applicant interviews
9. Conduct reference checks on possible candidates
10. Preparing sufficient copies of documentation for all formal and informal employee relations meetings e.g. grievances, disciplinaries, appeals etc. and ensuring these are distributed in accordance with company policy.
- Directs and coordinates preparation of position descriptions, ensures and oversees job evaluations.
- Manage employee separation issues, including risk assessment/management, exit processing, and exit interviews
- Interpret policy and labour law swiftly and accurately in a manner that results in sound recommendations to clients
14. Promote workplace safety.
15. Performance management of staff on a quarterly basis and preparation of reports on the same
16. Review and draft policies, ensuring they are up to date and fit for purpose.
17. Build strong working relationships at all levels to influence and engage staff
- Developing HR planning strategies with line managers by considering immediate and long-term staff requirements
- Advising on pay and other issues, including promotion and benefits; administer payroll and maintain staff records
- Listening to grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures
- Preparation of management report on a monthly basis
Requirements
- BS degree in Human Resources or related field
- IHRM Diploma
- Proven 5 year experience in similar role
- Knowledge of labour law
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communications skills
