Job role
The incumbent will drive end-to-end people processes, including recruitment, compliance, and performance management. The primary goal is to ensure the Centre is consistently staffed with qualified and compliant personnel. A core responsibility is to champion employee engagement and guarantee the timely resolution of staff welfare or policy issues so that clinical teams can focus, undistracted, on safe patient care.
Academic & Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Mandatory Professional HR certification - Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) and Member of Institute of Human Resource Management in Good standing
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources management as a Human Resource Officer or Generalist preferably within a hospital, clinic, or other healthcare organization.
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and industry-specific regulations related to clinical staff compliance.
Technical Skills
- HRIS/HRMS Management: Expertise in using and maintaining Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) platforms
- Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS): Skilled in using ATS platforms to manage high-volume recruitment, track candidates through the hiring pipeline, and ensure compliance reporting.
- Payroll Administration: Technical knowledge of payroll software and processes to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant compensation, including managing shift differential pay, bonuses, and tax deductions unique to the healthcare workforce.
- HR Analytics and Reporting: Ability to use spreadsheet software (like Excel) and data visualization tools (like Power BI or Tableau) to interpret HR metrics including turnover rate, time-to-hire, training ROI and generate data-backed reports for management.
- Deep understanding of labor and employment laws, as well as industry-specific regulations, such as those related to patient privacy and workplace safety.
· Expertise in verifying, tracking, and managing the licenses, certifications, and clinical credentials including nursing licenses, medical board certifications for all clinical staff.
· Technical knowledge of using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deploy, track, and report on mandatory staff training including infection control, fire safety, and compliance modules
· Ability to create specialized job descriptions for clinical and non-clinical roles, conduct interviews, and design structured onboarding programs
· Technical knowledge of health and welfare benefits administration, including specialized hospital benefits, retirement plans, and managing compensation structures for diverse staff levels
· Skill in administering the facility’s performance review cycles, setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to healthcare (often tied to patient outcomes), and managing the related software/platforms.
· Ability to draft, interpret, and communicate complex HR policies, ensuring they align with both standard HR best practices and the specific operational needs of a hospital
Responsibilities & Requirements
1. Daily Operational Management and Coordination
- Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of all departmental heads and teams (Clinical, Nursing, Admin, Diagnostics, and Support) to ensure efficient workflow and seamless patient transitions.
- Manage the daily allocation and utilization of critical resources, including staff scheduling, equipment, supplies, and facility space, balancing operational demands with budgetary constraints.
- Monitor service delivery to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to established protocols across all touch points.
2. Performance Management and Reporting
- Define, monitor, and report on key Operational KPIs (e.g., patient throughput, bed occupancy rates, average waiting times, resource utilization, and efficiency metrics).
- Prepare accurate and timely reports for senior management regarding operational performance, compliance status, resource needs, and strategic progress.
3. Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Ensure the Centre operates in strict adherence to all local and national healthcare regulations, licensing requirements, and accreditation standards.
- Work closely with the Quality and Clinical Governance teams to maintain and enhance high service quality and patient safety standards.
4. Patient Experience and Stakeholder Management
- Act as an escalation point for complex patient complaints and ensure that the staff delivers an exceptional and consistent patient experience.
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment that supports multidisciplinary teams and promotes shared accountability for patient outcomes.
- Serve as the primary operational liaison between clinical staff, administrative departments, external partners (e.g., suppliers, regulatory bodies), and senior leadership.
