Job Summary
The School Nurse at Noblegate International Academy is responsible for providing professional medical care, health management, and emergency response for students, faculty, and staff. The role is vital in promoting a safe, healthy, and supportive environment conducive to academic success, particularly within an international school setting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Direct Student Health Care
● Provide initial assessment, first aid, and nursing care to students and staff for acute illnesses, minor injuries, and medical emergencies during school hours and at approved school-related activities.
● Administer medications according to documented parental requests and physician instructions, ensuring adherence to medical protocols.
2. Health Management & Record Keeping
● Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic medical conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies).
● Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date medical records (both electronic and paper) in line with local laws and international standards.
● Monitor and track student immunization records to ensure compliance.
3. Wellness & Health Promotion
● Serve as a health resource and liaison among students, families, school staff, and external healthcare providers.
● Advise school administration on health, hygiene, and infection control practices, including managing communicable diseases.
● Support wellness initiatives and provide basic health education to the school community.
4. Emergency Preparedness
● Ensure the school medical clinic and First Aid/Emergency Kits (including AEDs) are fully stocked, clean, and operational across campus.
● Participate in the development and review of school Emergency Action Plans.
● Provide First Aid/CPR training to staff and assist in emergency drills as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Qualifications
● Education & License: Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited institution.
● Registration: Current and valid registration and practicing license with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
● Certifications: Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid/CPR.
● Experience: Minimum of 1 year post-qualification nursing experience, preferably in a school, pediatric, or emergency care setting.

1. Communication: Strong verbal and written English communication skills; able to interact effectively with students, parents, and international staff.
2. Clinical Acumen: Excellent assessment skills, sound professional judgment, and ability to manage medical emergencies calmly and effectively.
3. Technology: Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications.
4. Cultural Competence: Experience working in a multicultural or international environment is highly advantageous.
