JOB LOCATION: NYAMIRA COUNTY
REPORTING LINE.
The Tea Factory Shift Mechanic will report to the Technical Assistant and works closely with Mechanical Foreman, Shift Electricians, Production supervisors and CTC sharpening Team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
1. Ensure smooth Operation of factory machinery during assigned shifts. Machinery includes withering troughs, monorails, batch weighing feeders, rotor vanes, CTCs, CFUs, FBDs, fibre sorties, conveyors and related factory equipment.
2. Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and minimize downtime.
3. Monitor equipment condition and identify potential faults early.
4. Carry out preventive and planned maintenance activities.
5. Coordinate with electricians, production teams, and CTC sharpening technicians.
6. Maintain safety and cleanliness within working areas.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCES.
1. Diploma/ Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
2. 3-5 years hands on industrial machinery maintenance experience.
3. Experience in Tea processing or similar industry will be an added advantage
4. Strong understanding of rotating equipment, conveyors and mechanical drivers.
5. Ability to work effectively on shifts
6. Fast response and accurate fault diagnosis
7. Strong teamwork and communication skills
8. Practical Problem-solving ability
