Job Summary

The Human Resources Associate will provide essential people support that drives performance and desired results across the resort. They will handle human resources generalist responsibilities, including talent search and onboarding of new staff, employee relations, payroll support, learning and development and other assigned special projects in human resources. The Human Resources Associate will work closely with Operations Manager and Directors to implement the HR strategy across the group and work towards creating and sustaining an engaging work environment and high-performance culture that values people, promotes growth and creates impact.

  • Minimum Qualification : Bachelors
  • Experience Level : Mid level
  • Experience Length : 3 years

Job Description/Requirements

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

(i) Administration 

  • Management of the day-to-day operation of employee-relation functions inclusive of employee offs absences and employee leave days utilization schedules. 
  • Ensuring that up-to-date procedure manuals for all HR & Administration duties and ensuring that workstation risk assessments are conducted for all new employees. 
  • Coordinates all travel arrangements for staff and visitors, including visas and work permits as applicable for new employees joining the company. 


(ii) Employee Relations 

  • Work with Management Team and Staff Representatives to resolve employee relations issues pragmatically in accordance with the set Policies and any other guiding document or policy. 
  • Investigate employee relations issues &work to ensure human resources related decisions are considerate and fair. 


(iii) Talent Search and Placement 

  • Work with the Directors and Line Managers to refine roles, develop recruitment plans, interview techniques and detailed recruitment timelines. 
  • Manage the application process, enquiries and communications with all potential applicants and schedule interviews for shortlisted candidates. 
  • Manage the new hire orientation, and exit process across the group 


(iv) Learning & Development & Performance Management 

  • Support the implementation of staff development strategy 
  • Ensures the smooth running of the resort
  • Support the coordination of a performance management system that drives high performance and enables employee growth and development. 


(v) Health, Safety & Sustainability: 

  • Ensures that the environmental initiatives are strictly observed in the workplace and participates in community activities and programs. 
  • Ensure the Environment conforms to the NEMA Standards and other sustainability initiatives run by the Company. 
  • Supports implementation, communication and monitoring of all health and safety measures across the group in consultation with the Managers 
  • Enhance Safety Committee meetings in consultation with Health and Safety Committee to oversee risk assessments and implementation of recommendations. 
  • Manage and coordinate appropriate training in line with OSHA Act 2007 
  • Ensure that the camps premises comply with legislative requirements including but not limited to valid trading licenses and required staff certifications. 


Required Academic Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Attributes 

  • University Degree in B.com Human Resources or Social Sciences 
  • Higher National Diploma in Human Resources Management 
  • Associate Member of the Institute of Human Resources Management 
  • 3+ years’ Experience in HR with a minimum of 2 years serving in the same position. 
  • Counselling, Mentoring and Coaching Skills 
  • Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Sage 
  • Able to work flexible hours within Labor Regulation frameworks
