Medical Officer

Key Duties and responsibilities

1. Ø  Undertaking first-on-call duties, including clerking, investigating, and managing patients.
2. Ø  Reviewing patients and documenting recommendations accurately.
3. Ø  Conducting outpatient clinics and assisting in theatre procedures.
4. Ø  Performing emergency surgeries and life-saving interventions when required.
5. Ø  Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including specialists to ensure quality care of patients.
6. Ø  Carrying out medical examinations and preparing detailed medical reports.
7. Ø  Participating in outreach programs and community health initiatives.
8. Ø  Ensuring accurate data collection and reporting for patient care and hospital records.
9. Ø  Participating in managements of medicine and medical instruments and equipment.
10. Ø  Providing health education.
11. Ø  Any other duties as may be assigned.

Key Qualifications and Experience Requirements

1. Ø  Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from an institution
2. Ø  recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council.
3. Ø  Registration Certificate by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
4. Ø  Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
5. Ø  Training in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
6. Ø  certificate will be an added advantage.
7. Ø  Must possess a professional indemnity cover.
8. Ø  Proficiency in computer applications.
9. Ø  Two years of post-internship experience.
