Kenya Resilient Arid Lands Partnership for Integrated Development â Kenya RAPID+
Kenya RAPID + is five years SDC funded project being implemented in in Isiolo, Turkana, Wajir, Marsabit and Garissa under the leadership of Millennium Water Alliance. The program objective is to improve access to safe water and sustainable rangeland management in the five counties and contribute to resilient livelihoods for communities in a peaceful environment. The program aims to combine the capabilities of national and devolved water sector institutions, rangelands resource management capacities, and the skills and experience of the private sector to address the complex problems posed by inadequate water access and poor management of rangeland resources in the target counties. CRS is the implementing partner in Turkana and Isiolo counties.
Job Summary:Â
The Project Officer â WASH will manage, coordinate, and monitor water services and water resources activities and relationships with partners and other project stakeholders to assist in the achievement of the Kenya RAPID+ (Isiolo) project objectives while also advancing Catholic Relief Servicesâ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. His/her WASH technical skills and knowledge of the program area will ensure high-quality programming and continuously work towards improving the impact of this project.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and ensure quality delivery of the water services and WRM interventions of the project. Support identification of strategic rural water facilities for infrastructural improvement Ensure learning properly accompanies project activities throughout the project cycle. Analyze implementation challenges and report any inconsistencies and/or gaps to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules. Participate in WASH networks, meetings, and select technical working groups as appropriate to represent the project to ensure collaboration and project visibility. Support in identification of viable opportunities in water sector for Private sector engagement Champion implementation of water governance strategies, including engagement with governmental and private sector institutionsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesÂ
Analysis and problem-solving skills with ability to make sound judgment. Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners. Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented. Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities. Ability to write project reports Demonstrated commitment to respect, equity, diversity and inclusion including gender equality.Supervisory Responsibilities:Â None
Required Languages â Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
Travel  â 40% field travel and 60% office in Isiolo.

Qualifications
Typical Background, Experience & Requirements:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Water Engineering, environment, hydrology or related field. Minimum of 5 years of work experience in project support, ideally in the field of WASH. Experience working with partners, participatory action planning and community engagement. Experience with WASH Governance and private sector engagement is an added advantage. Experience in market systems development is a plus.Agency REDI Competencies (for all CRS Staff):
