About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified Lawyer with strong practical experience in Company Law and Tax Law, complemented by sound Accounting knowledge, to serve as an Accounts, Tax & Company Law Discussion Partner.
The role is primarily targeted at legal professionals whose core expertise is in Company Law and Taxation, with Accounting knowledge required as a supporting competency.
The successful candidate will provide one-on-one academic and professional discussions to candidates pursuing professional qualifications in law, taxation, and accounting. The role involves simplifying complex legal, tax, and accounting concepts through practical discussions, case studies, and real-world applications.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Lawyer with hands-on experience in corporate/company law and taxation who can confidently connect these areas with financial accounting concepts.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct structured one-on-one discussion sessions covering:
• Company Law – primary area of expertise
• Tax Law & Taxation – primary area of expertise
• Financial Accounting
• Corporate Governance
• Guide learners through practical applications of Company Law and Tax legislation.
• Discuss corporate structures, directors' duties, corporate compliance, incorporation, governance, and other company law matters.
• Explain taxation principles and their application to businesses and corporate entities.
• Help learners understand the relationship between company law, taxation, and accounting.
• Facilitate practical case studies and scenario-based discussions.
• Support candidates in analyzing complex legal, tax, and accounting problems.
• Develop personalized study plans, revision materials, and examination strategies.
• Assess learners' understanding and provide constructive feedback.
• Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation, company law, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Conduct engaging virtual sessions and maintain professional communication with learners.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout all engagements.
Minimum Qualifications – Essential
• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution.
• Strong practical and demonstrable experience in Company Law and Tax Law.
• Sound working knowledge of Financial Accounting.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance and business law.
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and regulations.
Added Advantage
• Professional qualification in Accounting or Taxation such as CPA(K), ACCA, CIFA, or equivalent.
• Postgraduate qualification in Law, Taxation, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience working in a corporate law, tax advisory, accounting, audit, or financial advisory environment.

Remote Work & Availability Requirements
As this is a fully remote position, the successful candidate must:
• Have reliable and consistent access to Wi-Fi/internet sufficient to conduct uninterrupted virtual sessions.
• Have access to a suitable device, such as a laptop or desktop computer, for conducting online discussions.
• Be flexible with session timings, as sessions may be scheduled at different times depending on learners' availability.
• Be highly reliable and punctual, particularly when attending scheduled one-on-one sessions.
• Be responsive and maintain timely, clear, and professional communication with the client and learners.
• Be adaptable and easy to work with, with the ability to reasonably adjust schedules and session arrangements when required.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of commitment, responsibility, and professionalism throughout the six-month contract.
• Be comfortable working independently and managing virtual engagements with minimal supervision.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are specifically looking for a Lawyer first, with strong Company Law and Tax Law experience, who also possesses sufficient Accounting knowledge to discuss and connect financial concepts with legal and tax matters.
Candidates whose experience is predominantly accounting without strong Company Law and Tax Law experience will not be the primary target for this role.
The ideal candidate will also be reliable, flexible, adaptable, technologically comfortable, and readily available for scheduled virtual sessions, with dependable internet connectivity and a professional approach to working with learners.
