Job Summary
Magnate Ventures is seeking a talented and dedicated Commercial Manager for Signage unit to join our organization. This is a fulltime IN-HOUSE role and the encumberment will be responsible for the division’s sales strategy, developing and building strategic partnerships with various stakeholders within the industry. He/she will also oversee the entire developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth and profitability.

Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Business Growth
· Develop, implement, and oversee sales strategies for signage and point-of-purchase (POP) solutions to achieve company revenue, margin, and growth objectives.
· Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive activities to drive market penetration.
· Set sales targets for the team, monitor performance, and ensure achievement of business objectives.
2. Client Relationship & Key Account Management
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, agencies, and corporate accounts to secure repeat and referral business.
· Demonstrated capability to build, nurture and leverage strong networks with government officials at both county and national levels.
· Oversee the preparation and delivery of impactful client proposals and presentations, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
· Serve as an escalation point for strategic clients, ensuring superior customer satisfaction and retention.
3. Project Oversight & Operational Alignment
· Provide strategic oversight on project planning, scheduling, and execution in collaboration with design, production, and installation teams.
· Ensure all signage and POP projects meet agreed quality standards, timelines, and client specifications.
· Drive continuous process improvement and efficiency in project execution.
4. Revenue Assurance & Financial Accountability
· Oversee account receivables management and ensure timely debt collection in coordination with the finance team.
· Develop and monitor departmental budgets, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
· Negotiate contracts, pricing models, and payment terms with clients to maximize value while mitigating risk.
5. Team Leadership & Development
· Lead, mentor, and motivate the signage and POP sales team, fostering a high-performance culture.
· Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance team capability.
· Set clear KPIs for the team and track performance against business goals.
6. Compliance & Industry Standards
· Ensure that all signage and POP activities comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
· Stay updated on emerging technologies, materials, and trends in signage and POP to maintain competitive advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field
· Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in sales, commercial, or business development roles, with at least 4 years at managerial level.
· Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales or commercial targets.
· Strong business development skills, with the ability to identify, qualify, and close opportunities.
· Strong account management experience
· Demonstrated commercial acumen with experience in developing pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and managing P&L or revenue lines.
· Experience in client relationship management, including building and maintaining high-level partnerships with corporates, government, or development partners.
· Familiarity with tendering, bidding, and compliance processes (B2G/B2B) in winning opportunities.
Skills & Competencies
· Deal generation and deal closure skills
· Strong execution and project management skills, ensuring strategies are translated into tangible results.
· Ability to communicate, present, and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
· High level of comfort working with cross-functional teams
· Strong analytical skills, particularly with sales data
· Strong presentation skills
· Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
